Making money fast in Fake an Egg

There is no single trick to money in this game. Income is a stack of layers, and fast players build the layers in the right order instead of chasing one expensive pet with an empty pen.

Layer one: filled slots

A pet only pays while it sits in a pen slot, so slot count is income. Buy pen slots from the board behind your fence whenever an egg purchase would leave a hatched pet with nowhere to stand. Judge every egg by payback, its price divided by its pet's income: a Bunny Egg pays itself back in about ten seconds, a Spinosaurus Egg in roughly fourteen minutes of that one pet's output. The pets index on this site shows both figures side by side so you can compare before you spend.

Layer two: the feeder

The feeder on the left of your base raises pet cash by up to about fifty percent while it holds food. Food comes from the Pet Food stall: a Carrot fills five percent, an Apple twelve percent. A half empty feeder is a quiet pay cut across your whole pen, so topping it up before a long session or before you log off is some of the cheapest income in the game. The feeder unlocks at Rebirth 1, which is one more reason to rebirth early.

Layer three: Rebirth multipliers

Rebirth resets cash only and keeps your pets, and each Rebirth adds a permanent cash multiplier, starting at x1.5. Because pets survive the reset, a Rebirth costs you a few minutes of refilling rather than a rebuild. Stack Rebirths whenever the panel allows and the multiplier quietly multiplies every other layer on this page.

Layer four: traits and mutations

Weather rolls traits onto pets, and traits are straight multipliers: Disco x2, Haunted x2, Sea x3, Cursed x3.5, Volcano x4, Acid x4.5, Meteor x5.5, Electric x6, Tornado x6.5 and Eclipse x7. Weather happens on its own and can also be triggered at the Weather Machine. Mutations, the Gold, Diamond and Rainbow prefixes from field eggs and the Fuse Machine, add a further bonus that no source rates yet. The practical lesson is simple: a mid tier pet carrying a strong trait can outearn a plain pet a full rarity above it, so read the whole pet, not just its rarity sticker.

Keep the stack fed

Sell your weakest pets at the Sell shop once a replacement is earning, use the Fuse Machine to turn three spare equipped pets into one stronger one, claim every Index reward the day you unlock it, and let offline income accumulate between sessions. None of these steps is dramatic. Together they are the difference between a pen that crawls and a pen that compounds.
