Bucks and currencies in Adopt Me

Bucks are the money of everyday Adopt Me. They buy eggs, food, toys, gifts, vehicles, houses and furniture, and every beginner question eventually becomes "how do I get more Bucks?" This guide answers that properly, then covers the three side currencies you will meet: Candy Corn, Gingerbread and Tickets.

Earning Bucks: pet and baby needs

The main earner is looking after a pet or a baby. Needs pop up over your pet's head; finish one and you get paid. The regular payouts:

NeedBucksHow
Sleepy10Put the pet or baby in a bed or crib
Hungry12Feed them food, or use a food bowl
Thirsty12Give a drink, or use a water bowl
Dirty15Time in a shower or bath
Camping16Take them to the Campsite
Sick16Healing Apple, Doctor Heart, or the Hospital bench
Bored20Playground, or a piano at home
School20Take them to the School
Party needs (Beach, Salon, Pizza, Cat Cafe)20Visit the matching place

Needs and jobs together pay up to 300 Bucks per in-game day, or 500 with a Pet Handler Pro Certificate running. On the x2 weekends Uplift runs every few months, the cap doubles to 600 (or 1,000) and pets age twice as fast too. Playing as a baby earns more than playing as a parent, because babies get their own needs on top of the pet's.

Jobs, paychecks and the login streak

Jobs at the Salon, Pizza Shop, School and Hospital pay up to 50 Bucks per in-game day between them. The paycheck is back too: since September 12, 2025 you earn 10 Bucks every ten minutes just for playing. The daily login reward builds over a five day streak: 25, then 50, 100, 200 and 300 Bucks, and it resets after the fifth day. You also earn one Star a day, which feeds the Star Rewards. Tasks on the Task Board pay Bucks as well, and they are worth doing while you wait for needs to appear.

Selling to other players

Food and drink stands are the classic side income. Set your own price and let the server come to you: hotdogs can be priced up to 50 Bucks, while lemonade, hot cocoa, snow cones and cotton candy cap at 20. The Dance Arcade Stand sells a boredom cure for up to 20. The Ice Cream Truck does the same job on wheels, ice cream up to 20 Bucks. Taxis earn up to 20 Bucks a ride. The money is slow but it stacks with everything else, and a stand parked in a busy trading server earns while you trade.

Inside houses, a cash register lets visitors pay the owner directly (the Golden Cash Register furniture costs 300 Bucks, and a single payment can be up to 150 Bucks). Players run little house shops this way. Enjoy them, but know the line: paying through a register is a gift mechanic, not a protected trade, so never pay register-first for a pet. Pets only ever change hands in the trade window.

Money Trees, lures and Pet Pens

The Money Tree is furniture that costs 1,450 Bucks and grows 8 Bucks every five minutes, up to 200 Bucks a day, until you harvest it. It pays for itself in about a week of daily harvests. A Box Lure (750 Bucks) can pay out Bucks from baits too, and since February 2026 a Pet Pen quietly accumulates Bucks for every pet inside it, up to 750 stored. None of these will make you rich. All of them reward showing up every day, which is the real Adopt Me income strategy.

Short on patience? Bucks can be bought with Robux from the money tab, and the VIP and Starter Pack gamepasses include a one time 100 and 200 Bucks respectively.

Candy Corn (Halloween)

Candy Corn is the Halloween event currency. During the event you earn it from the event minigames and, in 2026, from ordinary pet needs as well (200 per need). It spends only in the Halloween shops, on event pets, pet wear, vehicles and toys. It never converts into Bucks. When the event ends, the Halloween Wagon arrives as a last chance shop for leftover balances, so the golden rule is simple: spend it before the wagon leaves. See the Halloween 2026 recap for what it bought this year.

Gingerbread (winter)

Gingerbread has been the winter event currency since 2019. It is earned by ice skating and playing the winter minigames, and in recent years Billy has also exchanged Bucks for it at a daily limited rate (in the Winter Event 2025, 550 Bucks bought 5,000 Gingerbread, up to three times a day). It spends in the winter event shop and, like Candy Corn, it does not convert back into Bucks. The winter event returns every December, so saved Bucks in late November are a real head start.

Tickets (Pet Releaser)

Tickets come from the Pet Releaser, the feature that arrived on September 12, 2025. Talk to Jane in the Nursery (across from the VIP room), pick pets you no longer want, and release them for Tickets. Released pets are gone forever, so read the confirmation twice. The payout:

RarityNormalNeonMega Neon
Common1002,00010,000
Uncommon1252,50012,500
Rare1503,00015,000
Ultra-Rare3006,00030,000
Legendary90018,00090,000

Rideable pets add 150 Tickets and flyable pets add 300. Untradable pets pay half. Tickets buy exactly two things: a Basic Egg for 400, or a Crystal Egg for 4,000. They cannot be traded and they cannot become Bucks. Four released commons, in other words, are a Basic Egg, which is a fair trade for a backpack full of cracked egg duplicates.

Which currencies last?

Bucks and Tickets are permanent balances: earn them whenever, spend them whenever. Candy Corn and Gingerbread belong to their events: they are earned and spent inside the event window and its closing shop, and neither one turns into Bucks afterwards. Plan event spending before the final weekend, not after it.

Rates checked against the Adopt Me Wiki, November 2026. Event currencies change every year; the Bucks rates are the current ones.
