Adopt Me scam safety
Most lost pets are not hacked away. They are handed over, one plausible sounding scam at a time. These are the ones to know.
The scams
Trust trades. Anyone who wants to trade in two steps, your pet first and theirs after, is scamming you. There is no exception. Real trades happen in one trade window, in one go.
Fake value sites and fake middlemen. A trader who insists you check values on a site they link, or use their middleman, is steering you somewhere rigged. Check values here or on any established list you navigate to yourself, and never use a middleman.
Password and login scams. Free Robux sites, code generators and prize pages that ask for your Roblox password are stealing accounts. Your password belongs on roblox.com only. Turn on 2-Step Verification in your Roblox settings.
The quick switch. A trader swaps the agreed pet for a similar looking cheap one at the last second. Read the final confirmation screen slowly, every time.
The rule that protects you
Since June 2025, Adopt Me punishes scammers directly: report a scam trade and, when it is confirmed, the scammer receives a 19 day ban and the trade is reversed. Your items come back to you marked untradable. It is not a reason to be careless, but it is a reason to always report.
Before any big trade
Get your Trade License from the Agent Jake test at the Safety Hub if you have not already. Check both sides in the WFL calculator. And if an offer feels rushed, walk away. A fair trade will still be there tomorrow.
