Build a Zoo eggs: all 34 named eggs, prices and pools
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Eggs are how every animal in Build a Zoo arrives. Most roll past on the conveyor belt that runs beside your plot, and the conveyor tier you own decides which eggs can appear. A second family of eggs comes from the fishing point. Event eggs and code eggs sit on top of those two systems. An egg here is a pool, not a single animal: one egg hatches one of the animals listed in its pool, and for the two big event eggs the exact hatch chances are published on the animal pages. For core eggs, no source publishes hatch odds, so this page prints pools and prices only and invents no percentages.
Prices below are the figures from the game's two egg lists. Where the lists disagree, both prices are shown. One disagreement is too big to gloss over and is flagged in the box under the conveyor table.

Fishing eggs
The fishing point unlocks for 5,000 cash and opens a second egg family with flat 200 cash prices on the three small eggs, plus the two big late game fishing eggs. The fishing podium itself costs 50,000 cash.
| Egg | Price | Can hatch |
|---|---|---|
| Seaweed Egg | $200 (200 cash) | Angelfish, Bighead, Butterflyfish, Needlefish, Anglerfish |
| Clownfish Egg | $200 (200 cash) | Bighead, Butterflyfish, Needlefish, Hairtail |
| Lionfish Egg | $200 (200 cash) | Butterflyfish, Needlefish, Hairtail |

| Sailfish Egg | $800M (800,000,000 cash) | Crocodile, Shark, Sailfish |
Event eggs
Event eggs carry the best documented animals in the game, because event guides publish full hatch tables. Both of these events have ended, so neither egg drops today; their animals stay in the rankings because their published incomes are exact.
| Egg | Price | Can hatch |
|---|---|---|
| Turkey Egg | Not published | Gobbles, Mapleantler, Pippin, Cobbler, Tater |
| Candy Egg | Not published | Leshen, Roach, Cheshire, Huginn, Lucas, Mavis, Christine |
Code eggs
Two eggs exist mainly as code rewards. The Pet Egg is the generic egg several codes hand out, and the Sacred Deer Egg came from the RABBITHAT30 code. Neither has a published hatch pool, so none is printed here. See the codes page for which codes are still live.

Named eggs with unpublished details
These eggs are named in the egg lists, but no price or pool for them is published yet. They are listed so the record is complete, and their rows will fill in as sources document them. The Unicorn Twin Egg is named as a Peacock source by one list, but that claim sits inside the unresolved Axe Shark pool conflict described in the note below, so no pool is printed for it.

The Axe Shark pool conflict
Two claims exist for the most expensive eggs in the game and they cannot both be right. One egg list gives the Axe Shark Egg a pool of Alpaca and Peacock, and the Kaiju Egg a pool of Alpaca. A separate update article claims the Axe Shark Egg holds eight completely different pets and prints income figures for them. That article contradicts both egg lists and the conveyor ladder, and it reads as generated filler, so this page publishes neither pool as fact and no animal pages exist for any of those names. When a trustworthy source settles the Axe Shark pool, the animals will be added with their figures.
How these numbers work
Every animal name in this section is named by at least two public sources, or by a dated event guide whose hatch table a second source reproduces. Sixteen of the 51 animals carry published income figures: the 12 event animals carry exact rates from their event guides, and four core animals carry approximate rates from a single money guide, labelled approximate wherever they appear. The other 35 core animals carry arranged estimates, labelled Estimate wherever they appear: because no source publishes core rarities or a core income ladder, each estimate is built from the game's own structure, with the rarity taken from the animal's conveyor pool or its source egg's place on the published egg price ladder, and the income interpolated inside that rarity band between the published anchors, never above a published figure from a higher band. The moment a source publishes a real rate or rarity for one of these animals, the published figure replaces the estimate. Egg prices and conveyor prices are the figures two source lists agree on; where the two lists disagree, both figures are shown and the disagreement is flagged instead of averaged away. The same rule keeps the two conflicting mutation ladders on the mutations page separate. Codes follow the standard two source rule and every status is dated, because Build a Zoo codes carry redemption caps and can expire mid event.
