Grow a Garden 2 mutations: every multiplier and how to get it
Last updated: November 4, 2026
A mutation is a form a harvested crop can carry, and it multiplies the crop's sell price by a fixed rate. Grow a Garden 2 has 14 mutations in the current data, running from small weather rolls up to Glow at x80. This page lists each one with its multiplier, where it applies and how a crop gains it, from the same records that power the crop calculator.
| Mutation | Sell price multiplier | How a crop gets it | World |
|---|---|---|---|
| Glow | x80 | Star Fruit plants beam nearby fruit with the mutation at night. | Garden Valley and Fall Harvest |
| Eclipsed | x80 | Eclipse weather; harvesting an Eclipse Bloom fruit also grants it. | Garden Valley and Fall Harvest |
| Bloodlit | x70 | Blood Moon nights. | Garden Valley and Fall Harvest |
| Ignited | x60 | Sunburst weather rolls. | Garden Valley |
| Chakra | x60 | Applied by a Kitsune stealing from an empty garden at night; only that one stolen fruit can carry it. | Fall Harvest (introduced there) |
| Starstruck | x50 | Starfall weather; rarer than most weather mutations. | Garden Valley and Fall Harvest |
| Aurora | x40 | Aurora weather; roughly a 1% roll while the weather is active. | Garden Valley and Fall Harvest |
| Rainbow | x30 | Rare natural growth roll; Rainbow weather boosts the chance. Unicorn pets double the roll. | Garden Valley and Fall Harvest |
| Electric | x25 | Lightning weather strikes. | Garden Valley and Fall Harvest |
| Amber | x20 | Only ever comes from Amber Cranberry fruit. | Fall Harvest |
| Veil | x20 | Planting a seed while a Shadow Dragon is equipped. | Fall Harvest |
| Frozen | x20 | Snowfall weather. | Garden Valley and Fall Harvest |
| Gold | x10 | Small chance (around 1%) as any crop grows, including offline. | Garden Valley and Fall Harvest |
| Chained | x8 | Special event mutation; not part of normal weather rolls. | Event |
How mutations price a harvest
A crop carries one mutation at a time in this game: when a new mutation lands, it replaces the old one rather than stacking with it. The sell price is the crop's weight priced on the growth curve, times the mutation multiplier, before the friend boost, freshness and the daily deal are applied. That single multiplier is why two identical crops can sell for wildly different money, and why the calculator takes exactly one mutation instead of a stack.
Mutations are events, not purchases. Most arrive from weather, night effects or special plants acting on crops that are already growing, so the practical skill is timing: a mature field left standing through the right event is worth far more than the same field harvested an hour earlier. The full sell maths, worked step by step, is in the crop calculator, and the crops themselves are listed on the seeds and crops page.
Frequently asked questions
How many mutations are in Grow a Garden 2?
The current data holds 14 mutations, each with its own sell price multiplier. The table on this page lists all of them with how a crop gains each one.
What is the strongest mutation?
Glow carries the largest multiplier at x80 the crop's sell price. It is also one of the rarest to land, which is the usual trade in this system.
Do mutations stack?
No. A crop carries one mutation at a time, and a new mutation replaces the old one. The sell price uses that single multiplier.
How does a crop get a mutation?
Most mutations come from weather, night effects or special plants acting on crops while they grow. The How a crop gets it column names the route recorded for each mutation.
Do mutations affect pet values?
No. Mutations apply to crops and their sell prices. Pet trade values live on the values page and are priced in points per variant.
