Adopt Me potions guide

Potions live in the Food tab of your inventory, which confuses everyone exactly once. Some are fed to pets, some are drunk by you, and they range from the two most useful items in the game (Fly and Ride) to a potion whose entire job is making your head bigger. This is every potion in the game, what it does, and how long it lasts. Current trading values for all of them are on the potion values page.

The ones that matter most

Fly and Ride potions are permanent, and that is the whole point of them. A pet with both is FR, and FR versions of good pets are the currency serious trading runs on. Everything else on the shelf is temporary or instant, so never let a trader price a ten minute size potion like it changes the pet. It does not.

The age potions are a family, not a shortcut. Tiny Age (3 tasks), Age-Up (30) and Super Age-Up (183) all do the same job at different sizes. Age-Up and Tiny Age potions cannot be traded at all: they arrive through Friendship level ups, so the only way to get one is to raise a Full Grown pet's friendship. The math on what they are worth in time is in the Neon and Mega guide.

Where potions come from

The Sky Castle sells the Bucks shelf: Big Head, Hyperspeed and Anti-gravity for you, Grow for your avatar, and Small Sip, Big Brew and Translucent Tea for your pet, plus Fly and Ride for Robux. Three of them can also be brewed at home in cauldron furniture: a Big Head Potion brews for 200 Bucks in 45 seconds, a Hyperspeed for 650 Bucks in a minute, and an Anti-gravity for 3,000 Bucks in 75 seconds. The aging reward potions (Bonus Aging, Bonus Bucks, Busy Body, Choosy, Preferred, Future Sight, Secret Talent, Goofy, Polymorph, Home) arrive as rewards while you age pets up. The rest are event history: gifts from Christmases past, a Valentine's one off, and the four strange brews from the Halloween 2021 Potion Hunt, which nobody has been able to make since.

Effects and prices checked against the Adopt Me Wiki, November 2026. The four Halloween 2021 brews are legacy items; their exact durations were never published, so we describe them honestly as short effects.
