Codes and coins in Fish It!
Last updated: November 6, 2026
Coins are the engine of Fish It!. Rods cost coins, bait costs coins, and the top of the rod ladder is priced at 12,000,000 coins for a single Bamboo Rod. Codes are the game's free top up system, small but real. This guide explains how codes fit the economy, then walks the honest coin routes in the order they pay, because there is no shortcut in this game that a guide can truthfully sell you.
How codes work
Codes unlock at Level 10 and are redeemed inside the Exclusive Store: tap the red basket icon, scroll to Redeem Codes, paste the code into the ENTER CODE! box, and press REDEEM. The current set on the codes page pays out in Mutation II Potions, Luck II Potions, a lantern skin, a Cowboy Hat Halo and a level gated special reward. Read that reward properly: a Mutation II Potion is not coins, it is a coin multiplier for your next session, because mutated fish sell for 2.2x to 6.5x their base value. A code redeemed right before a long session at good water is worth far more than the same code redeemed at the dock. Codes also retire quietly, which is why this site only prints the cross tracker consensus set; redeem new codes the week you see them.
Route one: sell everything, by weight
The base economy is selling catches, and the detail new players miss is weight: the same species pays differently depending on the weight of the individual fish. That means volume at the right water beats trophy hunting early. Fish water your rod can work at the top of its Weight limit, sell full buckets without sentimentality, and treat Commons and Uncommons as what they are: steady coin flow that funds the next rod. The values page gives the typical copy figure per species, which is the right way to compare two spots: total expected coins per hour, not the single biggest fish.
Route two: mutations are the real jackpot
A Galaxy mutation at 6.5x turns an ordinary session into a rod fund. Mutation value is why the potion codes matter, why Mutation Hunter style setups exist, and why you should check every good fish before selling: the multiplier applies to the whole catch value, so a mutated Mythic can outpay a plain Secret. The mutation table on the values page lists all eleven standard mutations with their wiki chances and their sell multipliers side by side, in separate columns, because confusing those two numbers is how players overpay for the wrong setup. Solar, the eleventh, has no published chance or multiplier, so both of its cells read Not published.
Route three: climb the rod ladder on schedule
Coins sitting unspent earn nothing. The rod ladder is the game's compounding interest: each tier's Luck pulls rarer fish forward and each tier's Weight unlocks heavier ones. The sane rhythm is to buy the next rod the moment your selling income makes its price a few sessions rather than a month, and to prioritise the quest rods (Ghostfinn, then Element, then Diamond) once your level and index progress allow, because their Luck lines jump whole tiers at no coin cost beyond the quest work. The rods database lists every cost and stat so you can plan the climb instead of discovering prices at the counter.
Route four: trading, from Level 20
Once trading opens, your best catches stop being only sell stock. A fish sold to the game pays its weight based price once; a fish traded at a Plaza booth can capture the Recent Average Price the market is paying, which for Secrets and good mutations runs ahead of the sell counter. Trading is not free money either: you are paid for knowing values, which is the entire reason this site exists. Keep the values page and the WFL calculator open during a Plaza session, and let bulk low rarity fish go for coins at the counter where they belong.
